Foodie Friday bonus: Week 1 ; Mighty tasty Opossum…

That’s Opossum Honey Bread of course… I bring you my most recent yeast adventure..

A crumb to die for… nice and soft with its own slightly sweet and buttery taste.  I still have half a loaf left (I made 2, well 4 technically if you count the batch I made with my brother) and after a week it’s still soft.

This batch went a little crazy, and the second batch was a little dense (small price to pay with teaching my brother how to knead).  I have realized I really enjoy sharing any of the baking advice/tips I have figured out.  Who would have thought a girl known as “Anna air eater” would learn to cook so many things.  Why just tonight I cleaned the 5 Chukars we shot over my dog, and already have ideas of what to do with them (I’m thinking Chukar and dumplings) running through my head.  And I have to admit I am slightly partial to baked creations, and more recently yeast ones.  So stay tuned, you never know what’ll rise around the corner.

A happy carb loaded weekend to you all.

Love both bread shots, but especially the second for its utter simplicity. Slap a title on it, and it could be the cover of a bread book! Oh, the possibilities!

thanks, I really liked how that one turned out, knew I “got it” after I snapped. My brother really liked the recipe and it kickstarted his bread making (3 types already since going back to school). I ordered a pizza book and finally ordered the Bread Alone book so I’m sure more bread will make it here soon.
