Foodie Friday: strawberries, buns, and M&Ms

Hope you already had your lunch today….

Here are a couple treats that came out of my kitchen this weekend… drool away.

For Dan’s (my boss) birthday, he requested “Melt in Mouth Cookies”.. very simple cookie highlighting walnuts (and IMO butter and brown sugar).  Quite delicious in their simplicity.

Chocolate covered strawberries.  SO easy to make, I don’t think I could ever bring myself to buy them anymore unless strawberries were out of season.  (Yes I went a little crazy with the decorations, but it just made them better)

One of the favorite cookies around here.  Oatmeal  Peanut Butter Chocolate chip… and I placed a Peanut M&M on top for decoration.  A wonderful cookie, the PB really rounds out the flavor nicely, not overly strong.

Alton Brown Overnight Cinnamon Buns…  Finally found a keeper recipe, the proof… they were still good heated back up after being 3 days old.  Doesn’t get much better than that.

So, the weather really needs to warm up and the mud needs to go away… before I turn into  whale.  We had a nice week this week, it’s even in the 70’s today.  Hopefully I can get down to the canal with the bike and Luna soon.

A HUGE thanks to my friend Nicole for the new watermark/logo… nice to have something more official

I Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, time to go make sure the dogs have not eaten the  dough off the porch table.

(PS. if you ever want any recipes for what you see here, just ask I don’t mind sharing 🙂 )

wow, your food photography is just stunning, and you seem to be quite a talented dessert-maker, too. have you ever looked at the photos from lauren ulm at veganyumyum.com? she is another cook/photographer whose photos make me drool . . .

oh, goodness! these photos are luscious!

Thanks! Food photography is a new niche I’m working on, though not really. I’m really just trying to capture the tiniest bit of tastiness in what I end up cooking during the week. It’s SO not my strong suit. The photos you take are not too shabby either, not to mention the work.
      Thanks for stopping by

  3. Having eaten lunch doesn’t help… this is making me HUNGRY!! I’ll take some of the cookies and a cinnamon bun, please 🙂
The strawberries look delicious, too, but I prefer to eat my strawberries and chocolate separate.

Guess that means I’m getting somewhere with my food photos 😉 I like strawberries both ways, but only good ones. Most the store ones need help of some sort. Maybe one day I can grow my own and solve that problem.
      Thanks for stopping by

  4. I’m thinking it’s lucky I have no intention of going on a diet… as these have me heading for the kitchen… Not that there’s anything in there quite as appetizing, but I’m sure I’ll find something… 😉

    • Anna says:

yeah.. it’s a good thing I lack the same good intentions.. And there is largely nothing good in my kitchen anymore either.. scratch that I made some really good bread today. I made up for it though by going to 5 Guys. Thanks for stopping by, don’t be scared, this is only a friday thing so hopefully my blog won’t cause any weight gain. 😉
