So once again I’m guilty of not taking pictures of what was cookin’ this week in the kitchen. Tuesday night (I think, it’s been a heck of a week) I invited my brothers over for a seriously quickly thrown together dinner. My brother Aaron had requested the famous garlic cheese bread, and since I have very little meal creativity the only easy thing I could think of to make to go with it was Spaghetti (boring eh?). Everything came out wonderfully and all were full and happy by the end. Oh and I threw in some boxed brownies too (thank you costco for carrying Ghiradelli mix). My only other real dinner I made was
Biscuits with Chipped Beef Gravy… which is one of the mister’s favorites (!!) I really need to get a photo of that dish since it’s such a staple around here, but usually he is too eager to eat it to allow for real photos, which I guess is a good thing. I did things differently this time though, I finally tried out a new biscuit recipe
Considering I don’t have a biscuit cutter (I am going to soon invest in one as cups don’t allow for a clean enough cut) and I didn’t have all the sour cream required for this recipe (surprise there as that’s a fridge staple around here) it came out rather wonderfully. This will def be my recipe base now for biscuits, I will improve upon it, but I was very happy with the results (dare I say they kind of remind me of KFC biscuits, in a good way). Ask anyone and they will tell you cheese is one of my first food loves, but bread comes in very tight second. So I am very strict/picky/particular about bread based baked goods, not that I won’t eat just about any kind just that I want them to be special and above the ordinary when I make them myself.
I have not figured out what tonight’s dinner will be, not pizza as I forgot to make the dough ahead, something that can be eaten in one go as I doubt we will be here for dinner tomorrow. What are YOU making?
I love biscuits! My kids might eat them, too (but they’re picky!). Hubby doesn’t like them.
Oh, and there’s nothing boring about spaghetti & garlic bread. Yum!
Just looking at them makes me hungry.

OMG. These look amazing!
They are definitely close to what I’m looking for, I will try and find the recipe soon. Are you a bread fan too?
