Soooo as to be expected, it’s been slow in the kitchen this week. How the dishes/pans still seem to pile up I’ll never know. I do get to pass the pan/bowl/too big for dishwasher stuff over to my husband, as the whole submerging my slowly healing fingers in dish water is not something I will do just yet. Otherwise I have been basically self sufficient (I’ve never been one to milk an injury or sickness… get that from my mom I think) even when it comes to running the kennel. Things take longer as I have to be more careful not to bump the fingers… but overall things still get done but simple tasks taking longer is starting to bother me. But moving on… I have plans for this week(end) in the kitchen.
First up the artichokes I’ve had in the fridge for 2 weeks (and replaced with 2 more last night as they were on sale.. still think i should have gotten more) . Anyone that knows how picky of an eater I am is usually surprised that I like them but what’s not good dipped in lemony butter? (I could name quite a few things actually). Oh and as you probably guessed, I found a way to continue to take pictures… a higher ratio may be blurry as my grip is not as strong but hopefully some will turn out on occasion.
I also bought more pita and plan to attempt falafels again, we’re going to fix the texture and the flavor more to my liking. And I want to make some yogurt, if I can find the recipe I book marked. Beyond that I have hopes of using the new kitchen scale I bought as well as the instant thermometer but I don’t know if I can manage to knead dough. I know I won’t be able to stay away long especially if the Mister will clean the dishes. That is all for now, off to check the chokes.
Have a great weekend
And thank you everyone for all the well wishes for my fingers. Things are looking more mangled but I take that as a good sign as it’s beginning to close in. 😉 And I shall stop there
Mmmmm…falafel. We have never attempted making it from scratch and normally use a boxed mix. I know…obviously we don’t have the most refined palates. 😉
Glad to hear you are able to function and on the mend.
I love artichokes. When we lived in Chicago there was a little Italian restaurant that made the best stuffed artichokes. Bread crumbs, garlic and butter mixed, stuffed onto the leaves and cooked. Miss that place!
Have a nice weekend!
Thanks…. those sound interesting. I’m an artichoke lover who does’t eat the hearts… not sure why. Have tried to a couple times but just not my thing. but bread crumbs and garlic sound good lol
Are those some lemon slices I see on the side?
Delicious!
yeah.. I have been boiling them with lemon slices. but I also add lemon juice to the butter I dip them in. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by
