Foodie Friday: Pizza returns… and venison too

So I am going to keep this short.  I made Pizza this week which provided several dinners for the Mister (that’s all part of my plan), so other than that I did not cook much.  Things with work have just been too busy to allow much time, let along energy for dinner.  I followed a recipe from my Pizza book for the crust, I even weighed the flour for the first time.  It is amazing how different the weight vs. measured ingredients can be.  I really loved the texture of the dough this time, the dough not the end result that is.  But I think it turned out like it was supposed to it just is not what I am looking for.  Here is a look at the 2 I made for myself.

White pizza with a pesto base, ricotta, feta, cheddar, dash of Asiago, and mozzarella of course.  I do not like red sauce of any kind, so it’s always a white pizza for me. It can get boring, but then sometimes I experiment…

Like swapping the pesto sauce for Apple Butter… yes you heard me right, and a dash of garlic powder and all the above listed cheeses.  It is now officially a favorite of mine.  And I think some crispy french onions would go well on top of that too. Next time, now to tonight’s dinner

I wanted to give the Mister a break from pizza, so I pulled out some of his favorites (and mine minus the last bit)… Roasted red potatoes…

Mac and Cheese from scratch… yep it’s not orange, nor should it be, or any cheese really. Tasty stuff and very easy to make, I should share the recipe… This was to top the brocoli I made him… which was all to go along with his main course of…

Venison tenderloin

And that friends, was pretty much our week in the kitchen. I had hoped to make some Choc chip cookies but never got to them. Maybe this weekend yet.  Oh and the 4-leggers had their own foodie friday today. Go over to Luna’s site and check it out if you dare.

Happy Weekend!

(P.S. WORDPRESS please fix the link issues, I can not paste any addresses without it throwing it to a picture or another word than the one I highlighted.. thank you)

Yum! That all looks so amazing, even the potatoes. You’ve got some skill!

I have been using Firefox to post to my blog. I was having issues inserting pictures then I read over on the support forum that WordPress supposedly works best with that browser. Helped my picture issue.

The venison and pizza look yummy. We made grilled venison tenderloin last week and it was good. I marinated it and then grilled until just done…

  3. BAD idea me visiting your blog, when it’s HOURS until the next meal… lol…

  4. PIZZA! *drool* Pizzas are my ultimate food weakness—I can eat a slice of pizza (heck, make it four slices) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not the most healthy of diets over a long term period, but sometimes you just have to give in to your cravings. Your pizza looks divine… I better divert my eyes S-L-O-W-L-Y 😉

Yeah my husband is a huge fan too, one of the few foods he will eat leftovers happily. I feel better about it too because I make it, so I know what goes into it and on it. It used to be a regular around here before i cut my fingers, this was the first time I have made it from scratch in about a month, but i usually try and do it weekly. Sorry if the post caused you any trouble.

  5. I knew I should have waited until tomorrow to read this post. Now all I can think of is a 10pm snack!

Homemade pizza is one of my all-time favorite meals to make. Your white pizza concoction sounds delicious!

P.S. I’ve noticed that it’s easier for me to use Internet Explorer to post instead of Google Chrome. I’m not sure what browser you’re using, but WP seems to act differently depending on what you’re using. It’s very frustrating!

awww sorry! hopefully you resisted, though in the shape you all are in it probably wouldn’t kill you to eat a 10PM snack. I wish I liked to run, or could for that matter. I bought new walking shoes though and hope to get good use out of them if the trails ever de-flood. So you make your own pizza??

I had not even thought to try a different browser. I use a mac so I have been using Safari, maybe I will try firefox again next time. Hopefully that’s the problem and I can get link happy. Thanks!
