So this past weekend I heard of a fun match being held at a kennel club right down the road from me, aaaand when I heard Vizsla family members were going to attend I had to go. So saturday morning found me rushing around the house looking for my show gear. It has been over 6 months, probably even a year, since I went in the ring with Luna but I figured we would give it a go for fun’s sake. It was just a fun match, so no points or anything but drop ins were welcome. I thought it might wear her out a little bit for the day too. I managed to find all of my show clothes and was out the door with my girl and my camera.
Here are some photos from our day, I will warn you they are completely Vizsla family member biased.
Meet Patton, Luna’s half brother (a son of her mama Maddy), owned by Callie and Andrew who also have Luna’s uncle “Jack” whom you have seen on here before. His tail never stopped wagging, he is such a sweet boy. He is going to be a knockout in the ring if this keeps up. And I have no doubt that he will be amazing in the field too.
Not bad at all for being 3.5 months old. He actually ended up taking a Group 3 Placement at the fun match
Meet Hailey, owned by Luna’s breeder Laurie… a full sister to Patton, and a half sister to Luna. She is a spitfire but soooo sweet, and can you say C-U-T-E?? I can’t wait to see how she grows up.
She’s got moves too
Hailey is well on her way to being a stacking pro.
I was overall decently happy with these images. Despite the horrible (typical) light, and shooting at ISO 2000, the quality of the images is good. If I ever get around to reading my manual again, I will learn how to better push this camera.
And since I rarely get photos of me in the ring, here is a shot of Luna and I. Thank you nicole for taking a couple pics for us.
I need to work on my ring face, but I like how relaxed my hand is (probably from training so many dogs, just reflex now)… well outside of the claw of a right hand. As far as how Luna did, well we should have practiced before we went back to the ring. She did not want to stack at all for me, she just wanted the cheese. Very odd for her, but also typical for her and I. But she flew around the ring, and I was left slightly short of breath and wishing I had one of those dogs that I could walk around the ring.
But how could I resit this regal beautiful face? She did a great job waiting for me to be done taking pictures ringside, cheese helped of course. Check out Luna’s blog to see how she started off her week.

Great photos. It is nice that you got a beautiful picture of you and Luna together in the ring. Those can be tough to get.
Thanks. I am very happy to have the photo of Luna and I… normally I am the one with the camera so it was fun to have someone else there to take some pics of us. The points I have gotten on Luna, sadly I brain farted and never got a photo with the judge. So I have little to show me involved in the show mix. Thanks for stopping by, I know you are busy these days.
Very cute, love these photos!
I have an award for you, check it out here

Thanks, you are too kind 🙂
I think your feet are not touching the ground there, Anna! Great photos, as always.
haha! amazing eh Ed? One must fly to keep up with my Vizsla in the ring. So happy to have this shot.
Beautiful dogs, great pictures! What courage you had to pick up on a whim and do the show — good for you! Looks like a fun time.
